London is known as the capital of Europe and amazes everyone with its buildings, cultural monuments and high level of lifestyle. There are several attractions that visiting them is a must. Some of them are the most famous in the city, so that they introduce the face of London.
The first London attractions are The Houses of Parliament. Actually it is a building that has been established or to be more specific it originates from 1840 after a fire destroyed the previous building. Sir Charles and A.W. Pugin designed the building in Gothic style. Parliamentary tradition is steeped in pomp, which is better expressed from the fact that The Queen rides in her State coach to Westminster to open each new season of Parliament. This happens usually in the mid of November.
In summer time it gets congested with tourists and traffic completing to cross Parliament square. But actually only during the summer it is open for visitors. Tours inside the building take about 75 minutes.
Another attraction in London, that deserves to be visited instead of spending the time you have at the room of one of the hotels in London, is Tower Bridge. It is one of the most famous London attractions and it is over a hundred years old. It takes only 90 seconds for the bascules to be raised with electric motors.
And of course we cant skip mentioning the Buckingham Palace. It is also popularly knowns as “ Buck House”. The palace has been used as the Monarch's permanent London residence, since the accession of Queen Victoria. It has been established in 1702 as the Duke of Buckingham's city residence and has been sold by the Duke's son to George III in 1762. in the late of 1820 the Palace has been refurbished for the Prince Regent.
Buckingham Palace is the largest private house in London, which has more than 600 rooms.
